At Havelock, we have an Additonally Resourced Provision (ARP) that is designed for children with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), SLCN (Speech, Language and Communication Needs) and MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) aged 4 – 11 years old.
At Havelock ARP, pupils learn in small class sizes of up to 9 children and include a passionate and experienced multidisciplinary team with specialist teachers and teaching assistants as well as additional support including a PE teacher, Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapist.
Teaching and learning is based on adjusted elements of the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the National Curriculum tailored for our students. We provide a meaningful and individualised school curriculum to our pupils to ensure they develop skills and their independence.
Children must have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) to attend our ARP and applications must be done through Ealing SENAS team (see below).
Referrals are sent to us by the SENAS team (Special Educational Needs Assessment Service) at Carmelita House, 21-22 The Mall, Ealing, London, W5 2PJ.
We consider the referral and will visit the child in their education setting to assess, against our admission criteria, whether we can meet the child’s needs.
If we feel we are able to meet the child’s needs, we will invite you to meet us and look around our school and the ARP. This is then followed by an admission process in liaison with the SENAS Team at Carmelita House. Please note that during the pandemic we will need to conduct these meetings remotely.
Our Inclusion Lead, Ms Amy Braid, leads SEND and Inclusion across the whole school. If you would like to get in touch and organise a visit to the ARP, please contact the school on 02085717204 or admin@havelock.ealing.sch.uk.
If you have any other queries, please send these via email to admin@havelock.ealing.sch.uk
